briefly about me
Hi, I’m Lee Brown – a qualified counsellor, proud Northerner, and believer in curiosity, kindness, and connection (with a little chocolate for good measure). I bring warmth, humour, and authenticity to my work, creating a space where you can truly be yourself.
My life experiences have shaped my perspective on people and relationships. As a proud gay man and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the importance of identity, resilience, and creating safe spaces for all, which I strive to offer in my practice.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy countryside walks, comedy, good coffee, and dancing with friends. Balance, realness, and connection are values I carry into every session. Want to learn more about me and my approach?

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, but there’s no pressure. It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about exploring what works for you in a supportive space. You don’t need to have everything figured out—that’s what counselling is for! Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to help.
Counselling is a space for you. It’s not about being told what to do or “fixing” things, but about working together to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It’s a conversation with someone trained to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and help you untangle what’s on your mind.
Some sessions might focus on emotions, others on practical steps forward, or just providing a space to be. Counselling is tailored to you, at your pace, in a way that feels safe and supportive.
What is Counselling?

what to expect
a safe, supportive space for healing, growth and self-discovery.

We’ll arrange a brief 15 min phone or Zoom call to explore what you’re looking for and answer any questions. You’ll get a feel for the approach and professional experience supporting anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, and LGBTQIA+ concerns.
step 2: initial chat

If it feels right, we’ll book your first session at a time that suits you (online via Zoom or phone). I’ll then send a simple document explaining how we’ll work together—covering things like confidentiality, session info, and cancellations, so everything is clear from the start.
step 3: book your session

Building on our initial chat, your first full session is a chance to explore more deeply what’s brought you to counselling. We’ll talk about what you’d like to focus on, go over any questions, and get a feel for how we can work together and what you’d like to gain from the sessions.
step 4: your first session

We’ll meet regularly—short or long term, depending on your needs—drawing on my professional expertise and BACP ethical standards to build insight, coping tools, and lasting confidence.
step 5: ongoing support

step 1: reach Out
Send a message via the contact form, email, or WhatsApp to connect. This is just a friendly first hello to start the conversation.
